Elyn Zimmerman

American, 1945

Best known as a sculptor with an emphasis on large-scale, site-specific projects, Zimmerman has created and exhibited drawings and photographs since graduating from UCLA in 1972 with an M.F.A. in painting and photography. She continues to mix and match these media in her two-dimensional works. Her work has been seen in solo exhibitions at numerous galleries and museums, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Wave Hill, Riverdale, New York; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and the Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art. She is represented in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and The Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art, both in New York City, among others.

In 2023 her work, Sudama, was installed on the American University campus.
